We hear the words “climate change” all the time but what exactly does it mean? What caused it? And what needs to be done to mitigate its effects? Climate change is the accelerated warming that disrupts the earth’s ecological systems.

This increased warmth impacts the environment we live in by intensifying existing weather events that can cause harm to surrounding communities.

Heat, drought, wildfires, storms, and floods are just a few examples of the environmental effects.

Since the Industrial Age, humans have been contributing to climate change more and more as we continue to burn fossil fuels rather than switching to renewable sources.

Our planet is warming at an alarming rate and there needs to be an immediate, global systemic change.

It’s also essential to make sure those most vulnerable to the effects of climate change, are put at the forefront of climate solutions.
