Youth Leadership Development Programs

CASA’s Youth Engagement and Leadership programs include Mi Espacio, Escalera and SPIRIT programs, after-school and in-school programs for immigrant and first-generation middle and high school students in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Langley Park. Our programs strive to build the next generation of immigrant and first generation youth leaders by combining academic support, college and career readiness, civic leadership development and social justice training focused on making changes to their own communities.
The program integrates practical, hands-on activities, field trips and other enrichment activities into every aspect of the program to ensure that the material is relevant and participants are engaged. Our programs are offered during the week at our centers and in partner schools. Parents are also encouraged to participate in monthly meetings, which include informational workshops on topics identified as priorities by staff during home visits, and to access additional services at CASA or partner agencies. Our programs provide a positive environment for youth that meets their social needs, advances their academic achievement, and facilitates positive development for their families and the broader community.

*Note: we accept applications for the youth programs on a rolling basis, but our youth programs work with specific partner schools.*
