Woodbridge Revitalization
A Vision for Virginia
Letter from the Executive Director and Board
Friends
We write this message eager to share the bright future we have in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Years of serving the immigrant community in Virginia has shown us that there is so much opportunity for growth for immigrant and working-class communities in Virginia. Like communities recovering from the pandemic around the country, many areas of Northern Virginia home to high concentrations of immigrant communities are seeing unprecedented growth and development, which has led to many industries experiencing an increased need for workers. And because of our experience doing the work – empowering marginalized communities through direct services coupled with grassroots organizing – CASA is uniquely positioned to play a key role in seizing this opportune moment.
Our eyes and our hearts are open to building a community founded on equity and an economy centered on empathy. And it all starts with a building. The brick-and-mortar space that we have acquired at 2359 Research Ct. is the first step in a journey that leads to expanding our services and programs to a capacity never seen before. With unshakeable faith in our members, we move our community from surviving to thriving, with expanded workforce development, educational opportunities, and nonprofit housing in one Woodbridge center, all surrounded by a vibrant, high-traffic retail center. All of this designed with the empowerment of our communities in mind.
We can build this future together. After three decades of serving the immigrant and working-class community, we are prepared for this moment, and we are ready. As you peruse our vision for Virginia, let your mind wander to what the future could be if we take that first step together.
Thank you for breaking ground with us in this new chapter for our community and for our movement.
In Solidarity,
