LANGLEY PARK, MD – CASA, Inc. and Schweb Partners, LLC, are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached to address residents’ concerns at apartment complexes in Prince George’s County, Maryland, owned or managed by Schweb.

Due to limited housing and rising inflation, many residents have been struggling to afford the rising costs of living. CASA supported the organization of tenants at apartment complexes in Prince George’s County, Maryland, owned or managed by Schweb, and assisted residents by distributing flyers, organizing meetings and putting together a cohesive message and plan of action to assure that the needs of residents are met.

As a result of the tenants’ organization, representatives of CASA and tenants from various apartment complexes met with representatives of Schweb on several occasions to address the tenants’ complaints. These discussions led to a mutually agreeable Memorandum of Understanding between CASA, the tenants, and Schweb.

CASA believes the tenants achieved a favorable outcome as a direct result of their community organization. CASA also thanks Schweb for taking the time to listen, understand, and address the tenants’ concerns. As a result, CASA encourages that any tenants maintaining a “rent strike” end it at this time and resume making payments to their landlords in accordance with their leases.
