Yasmin Viera, MBA

Director of Development

Director of Development Yasmin Viera, MBA, holds a Bachelor in Psychology and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. With over 10 years of experience in nonprofits, philanthropy, and local government, she has contributed to the growth and sustainability of multiple organizations, while being an active member of the community. After nine years of making positive changes in public health, Yasmin ventured into philanthropy. During her four-year tenure at Family League of Baltimore, she oversaw funds awarded to the organization and provided upwards of $40.9M in grants to largely youth-serving, community-based organizations in Baltimore. In 2017, she was recruited by city officials to develop a grant-making system to allocate public funds to youth-serving organizations in the city through a competitive process. She oversaw and executed $2.5M in grant-making efforts resulting in 57 community-based organizations providing extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities to more than 1,500 youth. She was co-lead of a funding collaborative of more than 12 philanthropic partners, including foundations, funding organizations, and government grants offices, and implemented several initiatives to implement youth voice and choice in funding decisions. Additionally, Yasmin is the Head Coach for the University of Maryland, College Park Cheerleading and Mascot Program, where she has dedicated 14 years to the physical, emotional, and academic training of her student-athletes. She is a proud Baltimore resident and daughter of immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic. Yasmin spends her limited free time enjoying her friends and family and volunteering and serving her community.
