For decades, CASA has been advocating for legislative change in the Maryland General Assembly. CASA's policy team works to ensure that immigrant voices are heard and amplified in Annapolis. From annual lobby events with legislators, to tireless organizing efforts, CASA is committed to moving forward meaningful immigration reform in Maryland. Together, with partners from across the state, CASA has achieved tremendous accomplishments from passing the Maryland Dream Act in 2012 to winning access to driver's licenses for all in 2013 to raising the minimum wage in 2019 to ending state and local participation in ICE detention in Maryland in 2021. Outside of immigration, CASA has led and contributed to campaigns to pass meaningful police reform, tenant rights, and worker protection legislation. With over 100,000 members, CASA will continue to demand real policy changes that will pull the hundreds of thousands of immigrant families in Maryland into greater power, dignity and legitimacy.
