Activists Will March on Wednesday, 10/27 to Demand Congress Act Now to Approve a Transformational Investment in Workers, Communities, and the Environment

WASHINGTON, DC — Hundreds of progressive activists from immigration, climate, and care groups will converge in Washington, DC on 10/27 at 11 AM ET to march on Congress. Activists will deliver a message to Democrats in Congress that it is time to produce for American communities. Occurring just days before President Biden attends a UN climate summit, participants will hammer that Congress must deliver the transformational change needed for our communities and planet.

Four months after passing budget resolution language outlining critical investments in human and physical infrastructure, it is time for Congress to deliver on their promise of:

  • Green jobs and infrastructure
  • Child care and medicare expansion
  • Citizenship for immigrants
  • Home Care and Paid Leave

The march will begin at Folger Park with a brief rally, then participants will march through the streets of DC with chants, megaphones, and homemade protest signs passing by the DNC headquarters before ending at Independence and South Capitol. Unifying critical priorities in the Build Back Better plan, participants will engage in symbolic representation of the need to include 8 million green cards for immigrants, 2 million green jobs to slow the pace of climate change, 3 million new affordable housing units, childcare and universal pre-K for more than 8 million children, paid leave, medicare expansion, home care jobs, and more.
