CASA Executive Director Gustavo Torres issued the following statement after Howard County joined the amicus brief in support of CASA’s complaint against the Trump administration’s rule to delay applicants for asylum from getting authorization to work while their application is processed.

“While this is a great step, the harder work starts at home. We look forward to sitting down and talking with Howard County Executive Calvin Ball about what he can do in Howard County to support the immigrant community. Only by starting first at home can any advocacy work mean something.”
