Coalition of Workers Will Gather to Rally for Senator Toomey to Support Critical Legislation

HARRISBURG, PA — Although Congress has begun its recess, groups of the most affected people gather Tuesday, April 6, together to remind Senator Toomey and other legislators that bold actions need to be taken to protect our future. Pennsylvania’s essential workers are the backbone of our state’s economy and have worked throughout the pandemic to keep us all fed, safe, and healthy, risking their own health and safety to do so. Advocacy groups are coming together to ask that Senator Pat Toomey center essential workers by investing in care workers and the care economy, paid sick leave and early learning, a path to citizenship for essential workers, and climate solutions that will provide family-sustaining, green jobs to Black, brown, and immigrant workers.

WHAT: Immigrants, care workers, and allies rally to call on Senator Pat Toomey to support the American Jobs Act, THRIVE Act, and path to citizenship for essential workers, DACA, and TPS holders.

WHEN: April 6, 2021 at 12pm

WHERE: 3rd and Walnut, Harrisburg PA near Strawberry Square

WHO: CASA, The 99% Pennsylvania campaign of the Pennsylvania Budget Policy Center, #CareCantWait Coalition, and Tuesday’s with Toomey
