February 3, 2021, YORK, PA In response to Governor Wolf’s 2021 legislative plan that was released today, Thais Carrero Pennsylvania Director of CASA, the mid Atlantic’s largest Latino and immigrant rights advocacy organization, issued the following statement.

“Governor Wolf’s budget proposal is a great step in the right direction to make sure Pennsylvanians recover from the pandemic. The coronavirus is raging in Pennsylvania’s immigrant communities. Federal aid has not come to relieve the undocumented, even though they have protected and upheld our society on the frontlines.

More needs to be done to be sure that immigrants have access to use the resources Governor Wolf is presenting. While we wait for more inclusive federal relief, states like Pennsylvania must take leadership roles in creating a place where everyone can thrive.”
