40 Montgomery County Organizations Signed onto a Letter Urging the County Council to Pass Rent Stabilization Legislation with Amendments

17 July, 2023, Rockville, MD – 40 Montgomery County-Based Organizations, including labor unions, direct service providers, climate organizations, LGBTQIA+ rights groups, tenant unions, and faith-based institutions have signed on to the attached letter, urging the County Council to pass rent stabilization as recommended by the PHP Committee with the following additional amendments.

We, the undersigned 40 advocacy, labor, business, community service providers, and faith organizations, write to respectfully urge the Montgomery County Council to pass rent stablization with the critical amendments. We call on your leadership to do everything in your power to ensure this critical legislation passes. We believe that housing is a human right. As our county’s homelessness and eviction and housing crisis continue, we urge you to pass a final rent stabilization bill in alignment with the attached positions.
