Community Schools

In partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) and Internationals Network for Public Schools, CASA opened two new public high schools in 2015: International High School in Prince George’s at Largo and International High School at Langley Park. Currently, each school has 100 ninth graders and will continue to grow by 100 students each year by adding a grade level.  The vision for the schools is to provide a quality, college and career preparatory education for English language learners, of all nationalities and ESOL status, underrepresented in higher education.

The schools will use a community school model to offer a holistic approach to educating students, families and community members. Students will get an academic program aligned with Common Core Standards.  And students, families and community members will have access to an array of social, health and legal services as well as educational services.

CASA will provide many of these services but we will also seek local, regional and national partners to provide some of these wrap-around services.
