Regalando Sonrisas – Winter Festival
CASA is organizing its annual holiday celebration and we need your support to ensure it continues to be a success. Your donations of unopened toys, new winter coats, and monetary donations will help us give away smiles this holiday season. All monetary donations will go to this fun and community-strengthening event, gender neutral and educational toys, and winter coats for students in need. This is an opportunity for you to positively affect the life of a young person and create piece of mind for some parents. We ask and encourage you to join us in giving away smiles to our youth this holiday season!
During CASA’s early years, our holiday celebrations were small, just several committed leaders giving back and strengthening our community. Since 2005, when CASA opened its Multicultural Center in Langley Park, we’ve held large holiday celebrations. Now, CASA’s holiday celebration is one the most anticipated events amongst our members.
Last December, CASA helped hundreds of families have a joyful holiday season. We distributed 500 gifts to children of all ages, and over 600 community members received a small meal, participated in activities, and enjoyed live entertainment.
This year, we plan on distributing over 700 gifts to children between infancy and 13 years of age, and are counting on you to help us giveaway smiles. To achieve this goal, CASA is working with schools, community organizations, the public and private sectors. This includes Univision, local businesses, Barnes & Nobles, Centronía, Transforming Neighborhood Initiative: Langley Park (TNI), Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), University of Maryland, and others.
But we need your help!
We call on you to donate unopened toys, new coats and winter gear, make monetary contributions by click the “Donate to Regalando Sonrisas” button, and/or volunteer.
In addition, we are working with local schools to identify K-12 students who need winter coats. Our goal is to give out at least 100 winter coats to selected students. We recently opened our International High Schools in Prince George’s County and noticed some students do not have adequate winter clothing. This will be the first winter for some students in our community.
Your support, at any capacity, will ensure this event is a success. For more information, please contact, Julio Murillo at email@example.com
