Immigrants Gather to Watch President Obama’s Announcement on Administrative Relief

–      Directly Impacted Families Come Together to Hear Details of Relief –

 

Hundreds of immigrants will gather across CASA to hear President Obama’s executive action announcement expected to offer temporary protection to millions of undocumented immigrants. Activists will host three screening parties, one in the heart of Langley Park, a second in Arlington, and a third in Baltimore, and will include many directly impacted by the announcement.  Community members will be available for comment immediately before and after the speech.

  • CASA’s Multicultural Center, 8151 15th Avenue, Hyattsville, MD 20783 (this location is in the heart of Maryland’s most immigrant-dense zip code)
  • CASA Baltimore, 2224 East Fayette St., Baltimore, MD 21231(Baltimore, a historic immigrant city has opened its arms to new immigrant communities)
  • The White House, Lafayette Park, 16th and Pennsylvania NW, Washington, DC (CASA members from Virginia, joined by area activists will watch the speech on IPads and more)
  • Northwood High School, 919 University Blvd W, Silver Spring, MD 20901 (Hundreds of immigrants attending English class registration will stop class activities to watch the announcement and discuss)
