Immigrant Advocates to Protest Outside Fundraiser Where President Obama, Sen. Bennet Scheduled to Appear Today
(BALTIMORE)—Immigrants will protest outside a DSCC fundraiser today where President Obama and Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado are scheduled to appear. Activists are enraged that Democrats and the President are coming to pro-immigrant Baltimore to fundraise after the President broke his promise to grant relief to suffering families by the end of the summer.
“We have been betrayed,” said Gustavo Torres, Executive Director of CASA de Maryland. “Democratic donors and others hoping for a large turnout in November need to know that our community is bitterly disappointed that President Obama would break his promise to provide relief to our families.”
Here are details of the action:
DATE: Today, Friday, Sept. 12, 2014
TIME: 4:30 p.m. start. President Obama is slated to be at the fundraiser after 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Home of Howard Friedman, 6201 Green Meadow Way, Baltimore, MD 21209-3300
