CASA will hold a Know-Your-Rights seminar at 10 a.m. Sunday, December 18, to inform the public on what actions to take when encountering immigration officials. Since the election of President-elect Donald Trump, the immigrant community has been plagued by fear and anxiety as to what is going to occur once Trump takes office. CASA’s efforts aim to assure immigrants that they do have rights.
The seminar will also inform the public on how best to support each other and form action committees to resist moves that strip people of their rights.
The seminar is part of an International Migrant Day, a United Nations commemoration that highlights the struggles and contributions of immigrants throughout the world.
